Immunity.. Great for T.V Not So Real For Real Life..

How I wish we had that opportunity, to be immune to the woes of real life.
Don’t you wish that you can perform so good in a given task that life would just give you immunity for the next week? Imagine that, not having to go through the ups and downs of life for a week.
Wow, that would be fantastic. But I have news for you today that may just break your heart.. It never works like that. It looks awesome in the so called “Reality T.V” but that’s not too real is it?
In real life it goes a little something like this, You are having a wonderful time with your business when BOOM.. your sibling gets into some trouble. You may be having an amazing relationship and then BAM!! your business starts to collapse.
I know that it could be one thing and if not that, another thing.. I know that for years I kept fighting that, not understanding that none of us are immune to the trials and tribulations of life.
So what can we do to avoid it? Answer: Nothing. The first thing we need to do is to just be aware that that’s the way it is. Jim Rohn, one of my mentors on tape says it best, he says..”I wouldn’t sign up for that class” Just know that life happens.
Another thing that we can do, and this is a little more spiritual than anything else is to turn your life over to who ever you consider your creator. A certain peace of mind comes to you when you feel that there is a higher power on your side.
Another thing that we can do is to stay focused on working in all areas of our lives. By thinking in terms of becoming a well rounded person in all areas we don’t start to neglect one to the point to where it goes into a crisis situation.
This movie talks about a tool that I have been using for 5 years now and has been taught by many different teachers. I have a video that I recorded about a year ago that also teaches it. Let’s watch this short clip.
And this is my video that was recorded about a year ago..
Cool music eh? WOW, I can’r believe youtube didn’t hit me with a copyright violation
When you write your goals down, make it a conscious point to include your relationship, your physical health, your spiritual health, your personal growth and your social life.
Now even at that you must know that troubles will come and go but at least they won’t come do to neglect. Love life and the troubles that it can bring for they aren’t really troubles but opportunities to demonstrate our growth and graduate to higher levels of success.
Have a blessed week and remain focused.

Hi Jaime,
I like your personal development model or “Wheel of Life” as you called it. The evaluation process is essential in your ability to identify the areas where growth is needed.
The other theme here is CHANGE and ACCEPTANCE. I would say non-attachment is important too in your capability to maintain your peace regardless of circumstances. Everything is temporary in our world. Change is the only constant. Whatever is going on in one’s life, good or bad, neither condition is permanent. Surrender is another important practice when things are beyond one’s control.

The “Wheel Of Life” is such an interesting concept, though I would not be so concerned about being in a *perfect circle* so much as getting it mostly round.
Fredric – I’ve always loved the Buddhist teachings regarding the beauty of impermanence. It is really the only thing that IS perfect.
Thanks so much for the thought-provoking post, Jaime!

Jamie,
What a great visual! The wheel of life really makes an impact on us. This is real good stuff. I often wonder how some people struggle through their issues while others barley see the bump in the road and are able to move on quickly.
Keep spreading the great value your ofering.
